Amner’s Farm in Review

I would like to thank Dave And Debbie Tudor for braving the weather this weekend to keep Ann and I company at Amners Farm, also for supporting our RCBDA, it’s a shame there was only the 2 units there.

It’s a concern to me that more weren’t able to turn out for the weekend, I know some were away on their holidays. This is a fairly new site to us and it’s a lovely flat local one, but it doesn’t look good to the owners when only a few turn up for our Rally.

If any have an issue with this site for any reason please let me know. Let’s hope the weathers better and more turn up next weekend at Wallingford?

Festival of Lanterns in Review

I’d just like to say what a great time we all had this weekend at RCBDA FOL at Bishop’s Green in aid of Blood wise and Clic Sargent charities.

Thanks to Edd and Nikki Lambourne for Stewarding.

With 15 units, lots of games,quizzes, guess this that and everything we managed to raise £397.
Well done to everyone we all pitched in, donated and emptied our wallets. And to finish with bacon and Sausage rolls at coffee morning 😋.Thanks to you all.👍


Festival of Lanterns, Bishop’s Green – 14-16th Sept

On the weekend of the 14th- 16th September, we will be raising money in aid of Clic Sargeant and Bloodwise with a Superhero themed weekend.

The Stewards are Edd and Nikki Lambourne 07769175957.

The site will be open from 12 Noon on the Friday TIL 1600 on the Sunday.

This is a Special Charity Event in aid of Clic Sargent and Bloodwise, there will be quizzes, prize for best lit up unit with Superheroes in mind. Also games,Teddy Bears Picnic,sweets, face painting,raffle,cakes and lots more, so please come, get dressed up in whatever you like and be prepared to enjoy yourselves and help us to help others in need.

Wellington Country Park in Review

I would like to thank, Jacky McCarthy, Kathryn and Christina Boyce for Stewarding a lovely meet at Wellington Country Park over the last couple of weeks, they ordered the good weather and it was great.
It was nice to see so many Campers out and having a great time. Having the Deer wandering among the units is fantastic, but please remember not to feed them.

I have spoken to WCP as to how things went from their view,and they said they had no problems and are looking forward to us coming next year, I thanked them for supplying the recycling bins which were all filled to the brim especially the glass ones???
Let’s hope we have such a great time next year also 🤞
For those in the annual football match At the bottom of the field, I have no clue as to who won but they seemed happy to end up in the sin bin for a tipple every now and again lol.🤪

If anyone had any issues or any constructive suggestions as how we could possibly improve things next year I would welcome them please.

Wellington Country Park Temporary Holiday Site – 10-27th August 2018

RCBDA are proud to be hosting another Temporary Holiday Site at  Wellington Country Park

Therefore, as we have such an enviable reputation to uphold, and in order to maximise your enjoyment at this prestigious venue, we need you all to adhere to the basic rules of the District Association (DA) Camping and respect any rules laid down by WCP Management.

The site opens at 1200 on the Friday 10th August and closes 1600 on the 27th.

In order to gain access to Waterloo Meadow, please report to WCP’S main reception (open from 09.30 -17.30 hrs) and pick up a £20 (refundable deposit) gate key to the site.

Follow the DA signs to the Meadow. On arrival report to the Stewards with your Membership cards and your site fees. Please have these to hand.

Site fees are £16.00 pun (2 adults & 2 children). 

Extra adult members £5.75 pppun.

Children (under 18) are permitted in pup/small tents within the 6 metre rule.

Non Members must enrol as a Temporary Member at a cost of £3.50 pp for duration of stay and pay the appropriate site fees of £5.75 pppun. They must camp within the members main unit.

Adults Members (over 18) (over 21 for youth members) in pup/small tents will be charged the full site fees of £16 pun.

Any day visitors are encouraged to gain access via the main turnstiles. However any visitors fees are at the Stewards Discretion unless they have paid at the turnstiles.

The primary Stewards are Jacky McCarthy (07894085175), Christina Boyce (07713030675) and Kathryn Boyce.

The Stewards are in charge of the rally so if you have any issues please talk to them, their decisions have the backing of the Committee.

There will be a Tuck shop on site open at certain times, please ask for details. Unfortunately there will be no Marquee or Disco this year.

NO open Fires or Firepits are allowed on site, no ground BBQ’s are allowed.

Normal BBQ’s are permitted but are not to be used as a Firepit.

Finally, please remember that the commercial site facilities are strictly out of bounds.
